Lost public art |
By coincidence, I received my annual holiday card for 2014 from
Jean-Marie Bonnard and his wife Yolande. We have
exchanged information about Ellie Borgardus' art over the past couple of years. I also found out this past week, that the
cement skirts around the
manhole covers on
Nottingham Drive in front of the lot where Ellie's house used to be have been paved over with an asphalt coat that resurfaced the road. Gone are the images of the whimsical characters that were sketched into the cement before it dried. My folks said the public art was a bit of a nuisance to the town of Cambria when Ellie performed her craft - don't know if it was from the
Community Services District, or County
Transportation and Roads, or neighbors.

Tout ça tu penses? |
The inscription under Jean-Marie's image,
tout ça tu penses, translates:
"all that you think," with the reply from the character in the bottom right, "yes." The greeting from the Bonnards, ....... et en plus tout plein de BISOUX
MULTICOLORES !!! Again, translated by Google: ....... and more full of KISSES COLORED!
Bonne année, Jean-Marie et Yolande
